Pattern Instructions

CO 38 and begin knitting the 4 row repeat of the granite stitch:
Row 1: SWYIB, K1, K34, SWYIB, P1
Row 2: SWYIB, P1, K2TOG 17 times, SWYIF, P1 (21 sts)
Row 3: SWYIB, K1, KFB 17 times, SWYIB, P1 (38 sts)
Row 4: SWYIB, P1, P34, SWYIF, P1
Row 5 onwards: repeat Rows 1 – 4 until piece reaches a minimum of 52”.

To finish the basic scarf you will do the 4 row repeat but instead of completing Row 4 you will do a purl bind off and weave in the ends.
